An Elephant Footstool from Kuwait
Elephants on a Footstool? - Day 138 - Daily Content Challenge
Today’s picture shows a footstool I have in my home. This was purchased in Kuwait. We would drive from Salwa, where our school was located to Fahaheel to find the shop that sold these footstools.
Fahaheel is an area in Kuwait located east of Ahmadi on the coast of the Persian Gulf. The Fahaheel Fish Market is located on the seashore of Fahaheel. I remember we would often go to the many shopping malls in Fahaheel.
These footstools were a big hit and I love the animals they would carve as handles at the ends of the footstool. I was delighted to find one with elephants.
The elephants on this piece of furniture make a good memento of my travels while teaching high school math in Kuwait.
