Two Little Camels

Two Little Camels - Day 187 - Daily Content Challenge

Today I want to show you two glass perfume vials that have been blown into the shape of a camel. These almost look identical but if you look closely you can see several differences.

The first thing I noticed is that they are not the same size.  The blue one is taller than the red one.  Oh, there is another difference - they are two different colours.

The stoppers on these two look the same.  But if you look closely, the top on the stopper of the blue one appears to be slightly elongated compared to the red one.

The dauber on each of these stoppers is the same.  The dauber if you recall is the stick attached below the stopper which is used to collect the perfume or oil inside the vial so you can apply the perfume to your pulse points.  These two daubers are quite short and cannot reach to the bottom of the vial, so I am guessing these two vials are for show only and would not be used to hold any perfume or an essential oil.

Now let’s compare the camels’ necks and faces.  They both appear to have the same blue, gold, and blue decorations on their necks. The eye we can see on the blue one seems to be open and that camel appears to be looking up and very alert.  The red one’s face seems to be looking suspiciously at whatever is ahead of him.  Hmm… I wonder.  Do you agree?

The bases of these two vials have the same shape but the red one is fully coloured in while the blue one has circles of blue colour and two clear circles.

The top of the camels body where their hump would be is different too.  Notice that the blue one has a longer but skinnier hump while the red one is shorter and seems to have more fat stored in his hump.  I am sure these differences were the result of the glass blowing techniques.

The decorations on the body of the camels are slightly different too.  The placement of the golden leaves and the shapes of the leaves are unique to each one.

All these differences would indicate that these vials are handmade.  Each one blown and shaped by a glass blower.  The decorations on each glass vial were also added by a craftsman.  Each vial produced is unique, just each one of us is unique. We all have stories, gifts and talents to share with one another.
