Cherish Time
Kekich Credo Statements - Cherish Time - Day 190 - Daily Content Challenge
The second statement in the Kekich Credo talks about time.
-
Cherish time, your most valuable resource. You can never make up the time you lose. It’s the most important value for any productive happy individual and is the only limitation to all accomplishments. To waste time is to waste your life. The most important choices you’ll ever make are how you use your time.
Once again there is much to dissect in this Credo Statement. Here are some of the notes I took when focusing on this second Kekich Credo.
   1. Cherish time. To cherish something is to care for it deeply, to hold dear or to treasure it. To keep or cultivate with care and affection. I like this quote by Maya Angelou - ‘Time itself is an individual gift. It is wise to cherish it carefully and to give it away generously.’
   2. Time is your most valuable resource. I found this quote by Theophrastus, a Greek philosopher - ‘Time is the most valuable thing a man can spend.’ Theophrastus understood time as an accident of motion that cannot be stopped or reversed. He said that waste of time is the most costly of all expenses.
   3. You can never make up the time you lose. Benjamin Franklin’s famous quote says, ‘Lost time is never found again.’
   4. The most important choices you’ll ever make are how you use your time. Hmm… So how can we use our time wisely?
Time management is the process of organizing and planning how to divide your time between different activities. When we get it right, we end up working smarter, not harder and we can get more done in less time.
Keys to manage your time well include knowing your priorities, creating a daily planner, giving each task a time limit, setting reminders, blocking out distractions, and establishing a routine.
It is good to find time to reflect on what you learned and make small changes to help you use your time wisely.
Ask yourself. Am I using my time wisely? What can I do to improve my time management?
