Kekich Credo #48 - If someone lies to you once, he’ll lie to you a thousand times. Lying is for thieves and cowards.
Lying is for thieves and cowards. Lying means being dishonest or not telling the truth. Â
A lie is an untruthful assertion or false statement. A lie involves the intention to deceive. The person who lies intends to cause belief in a statement that he knows is false.Â
Lies are often categorized as lies of commission, lies of omission, and lies of influence or character lies. A lie of commission is a flat-out untrue statement. Lies of omission are not necessarily untrue, but they are misleading. If an omission of the truth is used to mislead or deceive someone for your own greater ends, or for an immoral goal it is still lying. Character lies are not necessarily untrue either, but they do try to create a misleading or false impression. Â
One of the reasons many people lie is to control how someone else feels. By stretching the truth or making something up, liars can manipulate how their listeners will react. This is especially true if they know their audience well. Liars hide the truth and they hide their feelings as well. Liars lie to avoid facing the facts.Â
Thieves are people who steal another person’s property especially secretly or without using force or violence. Theft is a crime. The crime occurs when someone takes and carries away someone else’s property without permission. The thief intends to permanently deprive the owner of their property. A coward is someone who is too afraid to do what is right or expected.
This credo statement says, ‘Lying is for thieves and cowards.’ If someone lies to you once, beware. He will lie to you many times. He is a thief and a coward. Â
Beware. Don’t be a thief or a coward. Do what is right and tell the truth.Â
