What Are Your Achievements?

Kekich Credo Statements - What Are Your Achievements? - Day 247 - Daily Content Challenge

Kekich Credo #59 - The foundation of achievement is intense desire. The world’s highest achievers have the highest levels of dissatisfaction. Those with the lowest levels are the failures. The best way to build desire is to make resolute choices for the future.

What are achievements?  Achievements in life are successes you have attained.  When someone asks you about your achievements, they want you to share experiences that you consider impressive or prove your skills and capabilities. Share things that have helped you develop in a positive direction.

There are ways to talk about your accomplishments without sounding like you are bragging.  Keep the emphasis on your hard work and don’t belittle other people.  Stick to the facts and give credit where credit is due. Express gratitude and own your success without having an inflated sense of your own importance.

Achievement-motivated people are constantly seeking improvements and ways to do things better.  Achieving a goal or task gives greater personal satisfaction than receiving praise or recognition.  Anything that you have worked hard to achieve can be included in your list of accomplishments, especially the goals that are measurable.

A list of achievements could include identifying a problem and solving it, re-organizing something to make it work better, coming up with a new idea that improves things, and developing or implementing new procedures or systems. Being given the opportunity to work on special projects and being able to pursue interesting, high-quality work that has a positive impact are achievements too. Receiving an award or being complimented by your supervisor or co-workers are other achievements that make you proud of your successes.

When writing a performance review you should highlight your achievements that show how well you performed the duties and responsibilities of your task. Describe the team achievements you contributed to and the specifics of what you contributed.  Also talk about the new skills you learned to demonstrate how you have grown and how ready you are for new responsibilities. Wrap up your review by explaining why your accomplishment is meaningful to you and what lessons you have learned from this experience.

High achievers are action-oriented.  They are optimistic, visionary, and flexible.  They are results focused and often called go-getters.  High achievers are driven by a strong motive to achieve.  They have a strong desire to accomplish something meaningful and important.  Less accomplished individuals are often more motivated to avoid failure, and as a result they achieve less.  Dreamers talk about what they should do.  High achievers just do it.  Dreamers over plan and often never get started.  They talk about ‘one day’, while high achievers focus on ‘day one’.  High achievers take action and are able to adjust as the situation changes.

Are you a high achiever?  What are your achievements?  Share something you have accomplished recently.
