Kekich Credo #88 - The source of lasting happiness can never come from outside yourself through consuming values – but only from within yourself by creating values. Producing more than you consume is the only justification for existence.
The source of lasting happiness comes from within.
Creating is the way to turn our imagination into reality. It provides personal fulfilment.
Creating is an act of mutual giving and receiving. You create to receive something of benefit in return. Maybe you are financially compensated for a job or contract work. Sometimes it is not for money, but for exposure or to learn how to do something better. Or maybe you create something because you see a need and you try to fill that need with something only you can create.
Creating is more about having the opportunity for creative expression rather than literally creating things from scratch. These activities are also things that you can get much better at with practice. Creations that have the biggest impact in the world fulfill your needs, the needs of your responsibilities, and they fulfill the needs of the community.
Producing more than you consume … Producers are people who make or grow goods and provide services. Consumers are people who purchase goods and services for personal use.
Creating is different from consuming because you have input into what you create. People who create more than they consume live highly fulfilling lives. You not only enjoy financial and material success along with good health, but you also find lasting happiness and fulfilment.
Robert Louis Stevenson, a Scottish novelist, once wrote these words: “Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.” In other words, don’t judge each day by what you consume but by what you create.
Create more and consume less. Let your imagination go and add value to your community and make this world a better place.
