Kekich Credo #95Â - You are exactly what you believe and think about all day long. Constantly monitor your thoughts.
What do you believe and think about all day long? What you believe is what you will become. Your life is a reflection of the way you think. You can be held captive by your thoughts or set free by them. The quality of your life will be determined by whichever one you choose. Â
Because our thoughts seem to fly in and out all day long, we often believe we aren’t in control of what we think. But we are in control of our thoughts, and we can become what we think about. Our thoughts create our experiences.Â
It is the quality of our thoughts that create the quality of our life. Thoughts hold the power to affect our mood, guide our behaviours and impact our performance. What you think directly influences how you feel and how you behave. If you think you are a failure, you will feel like a failure. You will act like a failure and that reinforces your belief that you must be a failure. Conversely, if you think you can do something, you will feel confident in your ability. You will act with confidence and that reinforces your belief that you will be successful. Â
Thoughts are shaped by life experiences, genetics, and education. If you are aware of your thoughts and attitudes, you can choose to change the negative thoughts into positive ones. Positive thinking doesn’t mean pretending there is nothing wrong or ignoring problems. Rather it means putting a more positive spin on your negative thoughts. Consider helpful solutions and look on the bright side. Try to find a silver lining in the midst of the storm.  Â
Expressing thoughts in writing can help you improve control over unwanted feelings. Putting those feelings down on paper enables you to acknowledge them. Writing can help you get more comfortable with expressing difficult emotions. Try journaling for 10-15 minutes about any thoughts, positive or negative, that come to mind while they are still fresh in your mind. Writing thoughts down helps you find patterns of unhelpful thoughts or behaviours. Observing these patterns can help you discover ways to work toward a more productive resolution in the future.Â
It is important to constantly monitor your thoughts and find ways to think positive.
