Life’s Purpose #6.  Prioritizing Fitness

“I will feed the inside and outside of my body with the nourishment it needs. The right food is an obvious necessity, but I will also make sure I feed it physical exercise, and prioritize being physically fit.”

To nourish a person, plant, or animal means to provide them with the food that is necessary for life, growth, and good health. This statement mentions food but to take a full body approach to nourishment one needs to eat healthy, get active, drink enough water and exercise your brain. These four habits enable you to create a strong foundation that supports a healthy lifestyle.

If you are adequately nourished, you feel energized and more grounded.  You can think clearly and sleep better. Your hormones are balanced and you can do the things that truly excite you in life.  If you don’t nourish your body and continuously undereat, it reduces the efficiency of the body to fight illness-causing bacteria.  With an imbalanced diet you fall prey to common illnesses, such as the common cold.

Besides eating the right food, this statement says to feed your body physical exercise and to make being physically fit a priority.  Experts define physical fitness as the ability to execute daily activities with optimal performance, endurance and strength. 

Regular exercise and physical activity promotes strong muscles and bones.  Regular exercise improves respiratory and cardiovascular health.  Staying active can help you maintain a healthy weight, reduce your risk for type 2 diabetes, and heart disease.

Here are four tips for Fitness Success.

  • Exercise Daily.  

  • Eat the Right Foods.

  • Be sure to get Sleep.

  • Stay Motivated.

Make physical fitness a priority and nourish your whole body.  Are you feeding your body with the right food and with physical exercise?
