Small Opportunities are often the beginning of great enterprises.  Demosthenes

Opportunities are sets of circumstances that make it possible to do something that you want to do or have to do.  An opportunity refers to a favourable time or situation for doing something or a chance that an individual gains.  Opportunities are different from ideas.  An idea is a plan or a course of action.

An opportunity has four essential qualities.  It is attractive, durable, timely and anchored in a product or service.  The idiom, ‘This is an opportunity of a lifetime!’ means a special chance or an exceptional possibility.  We often think we may never have a chance like this again.  

How can you attract more opportunities in your life?  Let people know you are out there.  Step out of your comfort zone and try new things.  Share what you have to offer to others.  Keep track of your accomplishments.  Praise others.  See what areas you can improve and work on acquiring new skills.  Get yourself a mentor.  

Small opportunities begin to add up.  It means not giving up even when things are going badly and not losing focus when things are going well.  Perseverance isn’t just blindly doing the same thing over and over.  What you are doing might work in the initial stages, but it isn’t going to work in the long run.  You need to constantly work on making small changes to your game plan to keep moving forward.

Demosthenes was a Greek statesman and orator of ancient Athens.  He is recognized as the greatest of ancient Greek orators.  Demosthenes was a professional speech writer. He wrote speeches against Athenians he believed were guilty of corruption.  He encouraged Athenians to oppose Philip of Macedon and his son Alexander the Great.

Look for opportunities. Try something new no matter how small.  You don’t know until you take on an opportunity what the end result will be.  Your small opportunities many be the beginning of something great!
