Words of Wisdom from a Bear

Words of Wisdom from a Bear - Day 328 - Daily Content Challenge

We saw two Grizzly Bears at the BC Wildlife Park last week.  One was enjoying a soak in a water hole.  He was sprawled out on his back with his paws up in the air. The other, younger one, was foraging for food and seemed to enjoy the attention of the humans watching him move alongside the fence.

Here are the sayings I found on the bookmark in the gift shop for the bear. The bookmarks were made by Your True Nature and can be found on the Advice for Life page.

  • Live large

  • Climb beyond your limitations

  • When life gets hairy, grin and bear it

  • Eat well

  • Live with the seasons

  • Take a good, long nap

  • Look after your honey!

How can we look at these from a human point of view?

  • Live large - make the most of every opportunity.

  • Climb beyond your limitations - always keep learning and find ways to build your skills

  • When life gets hairy, grin and bear it - life sometimes doesn’t go as we planned but look on the bright side and find the positive in every situation

  • Eat well - maintain a healthy diet

  • Live with the seasons - enjoy each season of your life

  • Take a good, long nap - when necessary take a break, enjoy time to rest and sleep well

  • Look after your honey! - take time for your family and others who enrich your life

The grizzly bear is also known as the North American brown bear.  Grizzly bears are among the most lethal creatures seen in the wild.  They have a powerful biting force that can split your body in half in a matter of seconds.  Fortunately they will not attack unless they are provoked or caught off guard.
