A Dog is Known as Man’s Best Friend

A Dog is Known as Man’s Best Friend - Day 348 - Daily Content Challenge

The dog is a domesticated descendant of the wolf.  Dog breeds vary in shape, size, and colour.  They can perform many roles for humans.  Some are used for hunting, herding, pulling loads, protection, companionship, therapy, aiding people with disabilities and assisting police and the armed forces.  Their influence on human society has given them the honour of being ‘man’s best friend’.

If you watched the funeral processions held in Windsor, UK yesterday for the late Queen Elizabeth II, you may have seen the pictures of her corgis.  The late Queen owned more than 30 corgis throughout her life.  It has been reported that the corgis will be entrusted to Prince Andrew.

Corgis are considered good dogs because they are loyal, intelligent and not overly aggressive.  They can fit into most households.  Corgis require daily exercise to remain healthy and happy.  It is recommended that they have two short walks per day of about 15-30 minutes as well as the opportunity to run freely around your backyard as often as possible.  Corgis are known to bark a lot.

There are two breeds of Corgis.  They are the Pembroke Welsh Corgi and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi.  Corgis are known to be quite affectionate and your Corgi will probably love to cuddle. Corgis tend to really bond with only one owner.  They will show plenty of love to other people in the family, but they clearly pick a favourite.

A loyal, loving pet for families, the Pembroke Welsh Corgi is known as one of the most agreeable of small house dogs.  They are also known for their intelligence and enthusiasm for working.  Many Pembroke Welsh Corgis compete in dog sports, such as agility, herding, obedience, conformation and more.

Here are my thoughts as I pondered the advice from a Dog.

  • Be loyal - If you are faithful and devoted to someone or something, you are loyal. Be a loyal person - someone others can rely on.

  • Delight in the simple joys of a long walk - Long walk - Enjoy being outside and go for a walk.

  • Unleash your talents - Find your hidden talents and share them with others.

  • Hide your favourite snack - This makes me smile.  Yes, I have to put my favourite snacks out of sight, so I don’t over indulge.  Hehe…

  • Make new friends - Step out of your comfort zone and make new friends.

  • Learn new Tricks no matter your age - Be a lifelong learner.

  • When loved ones come home, always run to greet them! - Show that you enjoy being with your family and friends. Let them know you appreciate them.

Have a great day everyone.  Resolve to make a new friend today!
