Elephants on a Skirt?

Today’s picture shows a skirt I bought while in Thailand.  

While I was teaching in Kuwait some of my colleagues and I had a trip to Bangkok, Thailand and then we drove down to Pattaya.  

While in Pattaya we checked out a local market and a shopping mall. I was delighted to find this skirt with the elephants as part of the pattern on the material.  

I wore this skirt many times while teaching in the warm weather in Kuwait.  It is easy to pack and very lightweight so it travels well. 

In many places I have visited on my travels, it is expected that one does not wear shorts out in public or when entering a sacred place such as a temple or a mosque.  This skirt came in handy as I could easily slip in on over my shorts and I was good to go! 

I still have this skirt in my closet and when the weather warms up I will probably wear it again this summer.  Each time I put it on I am reminded of the time I travelled to Thailand and the many adventures I enjoyed there.  Seeing elephants and learning more about them is one of my favorite memories.
