Camels as Handles on a Piece of Furniture

Camels as Handles on a Piece of Furniture - Day 176 - Daily Content Challenge

On Day 138, I shared a picture of a footstool with Elephants carved as the handles.  Today’s picture shows another footstool I have in my home.  This one has camels carved as handles at the ends of the footstool. Both pieces of furniture were purchased at a shop in Fahaheel in Kuwait.

While teaching high school maths in Kuwait, we would often head out to Fahaheel to go shopping.   At first we would have to catch the bus from Salwa that was heading out to Fahaheel.  Eventually I was able to lease a car and a trip to Fahaheel was much easier to plan.

There are a number of shopping malls in Fahaheel.   The Al Kout Mall is a waterfront mall with a number of international chain retailers and restaurants.  There is a cinema and a kids’ activity centre in this mall as well. It is described as a sleek modern mall with a food court.

I also remember shopping at the Lulu Hypermarket in Fahaheel as well as a number of other shops including a gold souq.

The Hilton Kuwait Resort is located in Fahaheel too.  I enjoyed many trips to this resort and was able to swim in the pool or relax on the beach and have a dip in the Arabian gulf.  A great way to unwind after teaching classes all day.
