Hope for the Best and Prepare for the Worst

Kekich Credo Statements - Hope for the Best and Prepare for the Worst - Day 197 - Daily Content Challenge

Kekich Credo #9 - A little caution avoids great regrets. Hope for the best and prepare for the worst. Keep fully insured physically and materially and keep hedged emotionally. Insurance is not for sale when you need it.

Thoughts generated by this Ninth Credo:

  1. A little caution - Caution means care taken to avoid danger or mistakes. This credo says a little caution.  Little means less than a lot of caution.  Ok so we should take some caution.

  2. The phrase throw caution to the wind comes to mind.  This means to do something without worrying about the risk or negative results. I don’t think that is what the credo is saying.

  3.  Hope for the best and prepare for the worst.  Be prepared but stay positive and optimistic.

  4. “Prepare for the worst, hope for the best” is a proverb to help you remain hopeful in the face of difficulty.  This proverb involves the use of the word prepare.  Preparation helps us create a buffer for unexpected events that may come in the future.  We need to be prepared with options in case the result of our action turns out to be the worst one possible.

  5. Benjamin Disraeli, a former prime minister of the United Kingdom during the reign of Queen Victoria, is famous for the quote “I am prepared for the worst, but hope for the best.”

  6. So how do we prepare for the worst?  This credo goes on to talk about insurance.  Keep fully insured.  Insurance is not for sale when you need it.

  7. What kind of insurance?  Life insurance? Home insurance? Health insurance? Car insurance? Travel insurance? Accident insurance?

Are you prepared so you can remain positive and optimistic? Are you taking a little caution when making plans and decisions that will affect your results?
