Kekich Credo #36 - Keep your overhead to a minimum. Rely more on brains, wit and talent… and less on money.
Overhead expenses are what it costs to run a business, including rent, advertising, insurance, utilities, repairs, supplies, taxes, telephone bills, internet costs and travel expenses. Operating expenses are required to run a business and cannot be avoided. The key is to review these expenses regularly in order to keep them to a minimum.
Instead of relying on money, this credo statement says we should rely more on brains, wit and talent. When we think of the word brains, we think of intelligence. A person with intelligence is one who is clever and quick at understanding. Talent is a special ability or cleverness that one has. Intelligence and talent are both known as a person’s good knowledge or ability. Â
Wit is defined as mental sharpness and inventiveness. It also means keen intelligence. A person with wit is defined as a thinker who has superior intellect.
If we are to rely more on brains, wit and talent, we should be lifelong learners. We need to use our brains and learn from others. Try learning something new each day. Keep your overhead to a minimum and learn those skills you need or learn from others who have the skills you need to reach your goals. Â
