Shared Values

Kekich Credo Statements - Shared Values - Day 239 - Daily Content Challenge

Kekich Credo #51 - Long term success is built on credibility and on establishing enduring loving relationships with quality people based on mutually earned trust. Cut all ties with dishonest, negative or lazy people, and associate with people who share your values. You become who you associate with.

The phrase that stood out to me in this Credo statement is - associate with people who share your values.

Values are important because they guide our beliefs, our attitudes, and our behaviour.  Values influence your behaviour because you use them to make decisions. They influence the choices we make between one alternative or another.

Values, beliefs, attitudes and behaviours are the cornerstones of who we are and how we do things.  They form the basis of how we see ourselves as individuals. They also determine how we see others, and how we interpret the world in general.

Your own values and attitudes have an impact on others.  Your values affect how you think, what you do and how you do it.  Your upbringing, your background, your relationships and the experiences you have had all play a part in the way you see things.  Sometimes your beliefs and attitudes can lead you to assume things about people that are not right or fair.  others.

Human values of respect, acceptance, consideration, appreciation, listening, openness, affection, empathy and love towards other human beings are the virtues that guide us when we interact with other human beings.

To be valued means that you are appreciated for your role in the lives of others.  It means you are respected.  Others respect how you feel. They don’t belittle you or make your accomplishments seem small.

Having shared values means that you and your partner or co-workers believe in some of the same core things in your lives.  The best way to tell if you have shared values with others is to frequently discuss them in an open and honest way.  Talk about your values.

Having shared values at work means co-workers share common work attitudes and principles with their colleagues.  This helps build a feeling of camaraderie and a shared interest in success.  Values in the workplace help you gain self-respect, help you be clear about your wants, help you in making decisions, help you enjoy your life and keep you motivated, focused and engaged.

If you are building a community online, you want to attract members who share your values. People who share the same values attract more people who share the same values. You may not know these people yet but the more you share your story and your values you will attract people who share your values.

The good news is that you can communicate your values through non-verbal communication as well.  The language and tone that you use when you write a post or when you speak on a video or zoom call, the way you dress, and the gestures you use, are all ways to communicate your values with others.

Values are essential for our mental health. Values help us live with direction and purpose.  Whatever is going on in our lives, our values are like a guiding compass. They can show us a path forward and help us make better choices. Share your values with others and find a community that shares your values too.
