How Do You React?

Kekich Credo Statements - How Do You React? - Day 246 - Daily Content Challenge

Kekich Credo #58 - You are responsible for exactly who, what and where you are in life. That will be just as true this time next year. Situations aren’t important. How you react to them is. You have to play it where it lies.

You are responsible for where you are in life.  That will be just as true this time next year.  How you react to a situation is important, not the situation itself.

When you are responsible for something, it is your duty to deal with it and make decisions relating to it.  Do you take responsibility for where you are in life today?  Or do you blame others or make excuses. When you take responsibility for where you are in life you need to find solutions and then take action to keep moving forward.

How do you react to a challenge or a situation?  Reactions are instincts which stem from the subconscious mind.  Often there is no filtering process when you react in a situation because you are running on auto-pilot.  Quite often when you react, you do and say things without thinking first.  You just act and don’t consider the impact of what you might do or say.

People have different reactions to the same situations.  A person’s life experiences have an influence on how one sees the situation.  How do you react to a difficult situation?  Are you a positive or a negative person?

The first step to figuring out a good way to move forward in a tough situation is to acknowledge the situation.  Oftentimes people try to stay in denial when they face a tough situation.  Second step is to develop a plan.  Seek help when necessary and change what you can.  Identify what you can’t change and focus on what you can change.

If you are in a leadership position how do you handle a difficult situation?  Ensure there is consistent and transparent communication.  Each crisis situation comes with its own set of challenges.  Show empathy and have purposeful conversations.  Always remain positive and keep control over chaos.  Be decisive and adapt to changes.  Honesty is really the best policy.

When you accept responsibility for where you are in life now, remember you will be in the same place in a year’s time if you don’t find solutions, make decisions, develop plans and take actions. React in a positive way and keep moving forward.
