Failure is Just Success in Progress

Kekich Credo Statements - Failure is Just Success in Progress - Day 250- Daily Content Challenge

Kekich Credo #62 - If your purpose of life is security, you will be a failure. Security is the lowest form of happiness.

Security means the state of being free from danger or threat. In many languages, there is only one word for safety and security.  For example in Spanish it is ‘seguidat’.  In French it is 'sécurité'. In English it can also refer to the measures taken to be safe or protected.

Security guards are often hired to keep people, property and other valuable assets safe and secure.  Their job is to prevent a crime from happening.  They do this by proactively watching for suspicious behaviour, mitigating risks as they appear and contacting the proper authorities when an incident occurs.

Failure is defined as a lack of success or the inability to meet a desirable or intended objective.  Too often, we can read too much into failure.  We tie it to our sense of self-worth, self-esteem, and self-acceptance.  Many times the expectation we fail to meet is one that we have created in our own head.

Here are some answers people give when asked what they think failure is.

  • ‘Failure is when I do not reach my goal.’

  • ‘Failure means to have a goal and not do anything about it.’

  • ‘To fail at something is making a mistake and not learning anything from it.’

  • ‘Failure is not reaching your potential.’

  • ‘I think it is harder to fail than it is to succeed.’

Inadequate training is often the main cause of failure.  When people do not understand what they are doing or how to do it properly, there is a higher chance of making mistakes or failing to complete the tasks altogether.

More people fail not because they lack knowledge or talent but because they just quit. Things will never be done, if you do not do them.  Any worthwhile accomplishment requires you to trust in yourself, to learn from your mistakes and to never quit until you succeed.

Failure is an event, not a person. A failure is an incident in life where something goes wrong or doesn’t go according to plan. Through failure you get to know yourself better and you will learn from your mistakes.  Failures make us rethink, reconsider, and find new ways to achieve our goals.  Albert Einstein said, ‘Failure is just success in progress.’

Failure is not the end destination.  It is an opportunity to learn something new.  Find the benefit in every bad experience.  It is not a failure until you quit trying.
