Find a Vocation You Enjoy

Kekich Credo #83 - Have fun. The single key to a successful happy life is finding a vocation you enjoy – one that excites you the most.

Have fun.  To have fun means to enjoy oneself or to experience enjoyable activities.  Having fun has positive biological effects.  When we do fun activities, dopamine is released and this leads to positivity and can counteract more uncomfortable feelings of hopelessness and stress. Having fun also allows us to connect and create bonds with others.  

The key to a successful happy life is finding a vocation you enjoy.  Vocation is what you strive to do in your life. It is a strong feeling of suitability for a particular career or occupation.  

Vocation encompasses every role that a person has in his or her life.  Your vocation is created by the roles you play and the actions you take.  It can range from a job to family life or from being active in a community to taking time for yourself.  Your true vocation equals your gifts and talents plus your passion.

Vocation could be work that is outside your wage-earning sphere of activity or it may grow out of a specific career path.  Vocation is what you want to be doing, while a career is a series of jobs in the lifetime of an individual.  Your profession is the career in which you get extensive training and acquire special skills to become eligible for a job in it.  Profession requires training and qualification.  Vocation is the innate ability in an individual towards a particular occupation.

Fulfilment in your vocation can contribute to enjoying a satisfying and successful life.  To enjoy a satisfying vocation you need to have a purpose, help others and be concerned about future generations.  Successful people have drive and patience along with discipline. If you are having fun and enjoy what you do you are motivated to accomplish something.  You will work hard to achieve it and are consistent with your efforts.
