Is Experience Important?

Kekich Credo Statements - Is Experience Important? - Day 287 - Daily Content Challenge

Kekich Credo #99 - Experience is not what happens to you. It’s what you do with what happens to you. It takes a wise man to learn from his own mistakes… and a genius to learn and profit from the mistakes and experiences of others.

This Credo Statement says experience is not what happens to you but the dictionary says experience is defined as something that happens to someone by direct observation or participation in an event.  They have been affected by or have gained knowledge through direct observation or participation in this event.

A new experience is something that has never happened before. Experience allows you to grow and evolve.  When you are presented with a new experience, you learn how to adapt to the situation in order to succeed. You may develop brand new ideas and strategies as a result of your experience with different things.

A life experience is an experience that changes the individual. Individuals stretch themselves to improve their character, their talents and their knowledge when faced with hardships, problems, risk taking, effort and originality.

Personal experience is the direct experience of an individual.  Many public speakers will share a story from their own personal experience.  Personal experiences provide great opportunities for learning and growth.  They often have powerful lessons that shape the person we become and we can learn how to approach problems in the future.

Experience is as important as knowledge and both are the best way to keep moving forward every day.  A day without learning is a day wasted.  The experience itself is the best way to learn.  We learn by doing.  Overcoming new challenges and learning from our mistakes is the best way to grow. As this credo statement says, it takes a wise man to learn from his own mistakes and a genius learns and profits from the mistakes and experiences of others.
