Motivation - WonderÂ
There are not great limits to growth because there are no limits of human intelligence, imagination, and wonder. Ronald Reagan
The greatest resource of all is our own resourcefulness. Â
This quote from Ronald Reagan says there are no limits of human intelligence, imagination, and wonder. A person’s IQ is highly influenced by genetic factors. Improved access to education, housing and nutrition are the main factors that led to IQ increases in many countries.Â
Imagination is a creative power that is necessary for inventing an instrument, painting a picture, designing a dress or writing a book. The creative power of imagination has an important role in the achievement of success. What we imagine and expect to happen can come into being. Â
Wonder is a feeling of surprise mixed with admiration. It is caused by something beautiful, unexpected, unfamiliar, or inexplicable. To wonder is to be curious to know something. If you want to say that something is so good it overwhelms you with wonder, you can call it astounding, astonishing, or amazing. Â
Gazing up into the sky on a clear night causes me to wonder.
Today’s picture is one of a supernova remnant in the Milky Way. A supernova is a massive explosion at the end stage of a star’s life. In this image a white dwarf orbiting another star has exploded in a thermonuclear event. The gas clouds thrown off create a spectacular remnant of the explosion. Supernovae are some of the most luminous events occurring anywhere in the universe. The explosions can be as bright as an entire galaxy. Eventually they fade from view in a month or so. The remnants they leave behind are absolutely stunning. Does that make you wonder?
Use your human intelligence, imagination and sense of wonder to discover new things and reach your goals. Â
