Motivation - Driven
Either run the day or the day runs you. Jim Rohn
Either you run the day or the day runs you means if you don’t do what you want and don’t manage your day as you like then your day will take you in another direction and you won’t achieve what you are planning. Â
Life is busy for everybody but you do have a choice each day. The day doesn’t always work out as you planned, but when you decide to run it, it means you have more control over what happens rather than sitting and waiting for things to happen.
Daily planning is good for your health and well-being. Planning your day provides stress relief and can help create a sense of calm amid chaos. When you are less overwhelmed with everything on your plate, you are able to focus and finish more things. Â
How do you make the best of every day? Â
It actually starts the night before. Each evening take 10 minutes to clear the clutter and refresh your home for the next day. Make sure you know what is in the calendar for the following day. Get anything you will need in the morning set aside and ready before going to sleep.
Wake up early. Early mornings are quiet, peaceful, productive and energizing. I like to follow the Lifesavers suggested in the book called the Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod. Silence, Affirmation, Visualization, Exercise, Reading and Scribing (Journalling).
Stay organized. If you want to have efficient days then you need to be organized. If you aren’t an organized or punctual person, then get the help you need to become one. You want an app or an assistant to help you with tasks, time and calendar management.
Remember to eat. Your body and brain need fuel. Don’t skip meals and eat healthy food. Exercise.  Block off time in your calendar for exercise. I have been swimming each day and while swimming 25 lengths of the pool, I can think about solutions to some of the challenges of the day.
Accomplish one big task each day. Block off uninterrupted productivity time. Ensure there is at least one hour for you to problem-solve, think, brainstorm and handle the work you need to do without being disturbed.Â
Do one thing that you love. Rest effectively. Be present with others. Give to someone else. Find time each day to feed your soul by embracing gratitude, laughter, hope, and faith.
Finally disconnect from work. Give your friends and family the focus and attention they need.
Jim Rohn was an American entrepreneur, author and motivational speaker. He focused on the fundamentals of human behaviours that most affect personal and business performance. His philosophy was to work for yourself. Working for yourself is not the easiest, but surely the safest way to become wealthy. Â
Either you run your day or your day runs you. Are you driven to make the most of your day?
