Words of Wisdom from a BigHorn Sheep
Words of Wisdom from a BigHorn Sheep - Day 329 - Daily Content Challenge
The BigHorn Sheep is a species of sheep native to North America. Bighorn sheep have true horns that they retain throughout their life. Males, called rams, have large horns that curl around their faces by eight years of age. Females (ewes) also have horns, but they are shorter with less curvature. A pair of horns may weigh up to 14 kg (30 lb).Â
Bighorn sheep are very social creatures. Sometimes they form herds of up to 100, although small groups of 8 to 10 are more common. Mature males keep away from the young and the females in separate flocks for most of the year. Young females remain with their mother’s group which is led by an older ewe. In the autumn, the rams compete for ewes with butting contests. Â
While at the BC Wildlife Park we saw a couple of male bighorn sheep. I could tell because they had curly horns. I found a bookmark depicting the BigHorn sheep in the gift shop.
Here is what the BigHorn Sheep have to say.
-
Stand your ground
-
Climb to new heights
-
Cherish wide open spaces
-
Use your head
-
Make yourself herd
-
Know when to hoof it
-
Ewe are what ewe are!
This is what I think of when I read each of these sayings from the BigHorn Sheep.
-
Stand your ground - To stand your ground means to refuse to yield, compromise, or be belittled. When stating your price for a product or service, just stand your ground and if the prospect is convinced that your offer will solve his/her problem, you will get the full asking price.
-
Climb to new heights - Keep growing by learning something new.
-
Cherish wide open spaces - An open piece of land can include a green space that is partly or completely covered with grass, trees, shrubs, or other vegetation. Cherish and enjoy the green spaces in your community. Treasure the parks and other public places by using them with care and respect.
-
Use your head - Think before you speak or make decisions.
-
Make yourself herd - You are unique and have an opinion. Speak up and make yourself heard.Â
-
Know when to hoof it - Be sure and test your ideas, funnels and ads. Know when to make a change.
-
Ewe are what ewe are! - Accept yourself. You are you. You are unique and have your own gifts and talents to share and offer to others. Â
Have a great day and go and apply one of these sayings today!
