Spread Sunshine Wherever You Go Today!

The Sun is the largest object in our Solar System.  It is the star at the centre of the solar system.  It is a hot glowing ball of hydrogen and helium about 93 million miles away from Earth.  Keeping everything from the biggest planets to the smallest bits of debris in orbit around it, the Sun’s gravity holds the solar system together.  

The Sun is the most important source of energy for life here on Earth. The hottest part of the Sun is its core.  The Sun’s energy is discharged mainly as light, ultraviolet, and infrared radiation.  Nothing could live on the Sun, but its energy is vital for most life on Earth.

The part of the Sun that we can see from Earth is the photosphere.  We call it the surface but the Sun doesn’t actually have a solid surface because it is a ball of plasma.  The Sun doesn’t have any moons, but it is orbited by eight planets, five known dwarf planets, tens of thousands of asteroids, and possibly three trillion comets and icy bodies.

Here are my thoughts about each piece of advice from the Sun.

• Keep it light - be the light, the sunny part of any situation

• Rise to the occasion - Rise, shine, give God the glory is a hymn that popped into my head. Just as the sun rises each day, reach for the top and rise to every opportunity.

• Look on the bright side - in every situation look for the bright side.  There is always something to learn from every experience.

• Set your sights high - Set big goals

• Renew your energy - Get plenty of rest - just as the sun sets each day so it can rise again the next day, we need to take time to rest.

• Keep a sunny disposition - We feel better on a sunny day.  Stay positive and look on the bright side. 

• Be brilliant! - The Sun is bright and brilliant.  You can be brilliant too!
