Giving Thanks
I am thankful for the friends I have made all over the world.
Why do I have friends in many different countries?
It is because I had the opportunity to combine two things I love to do.
They are to travel and see the world and to ring and play handbells.
Many of my early travels were to places where my sister Ruth had a posting with the Canadian Foreign Service and then once I retired from teaching in Canada, I taught at an International School in Kuwait and was able to travel with colleagues to visit many places in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe.
Once I returned to Canada, I continued to travel to many places in North America including trips to the US to join entrepreneurs at events to learn the skills needed to continue to grow and learn.
At one of these events I gained clarity and was challenged to start writing about the countries I have visited.
This was the beginning of a project to start a blog post called Travelling Tuesdays!
Every Tuesday I would post a story and now these stories are in my book!

My other passion is ringing and playing Handbells. I have had the chance to play bells with other ringers at five International Handbell Symposiums and at four International Handbell Festivals. These stories are also included in my book as I share stories about many of the countries we visited while participating in these international events.

Lucy Graham your book Travelling Tuesdays is excellent! Just enough writing to keep you interested and learning as well as plenty of photos and artwork! Can I ask who did the illustrations? The photos I assume you have taken and are all wonderful and give the travels impact! Well done! I highly recommend it and think it would supplement anyone’s education and interest ……even kids and all ages. Well worth the buy! Thank you!

Thank you for your positive review of my book Julie Hunt. Dora Altintas, my publisher, and her design team did an excellent job using pictures I requested for each country. For the places I visited before I had a digital camera, I used google images and then she used a similar illustration that her company had the proper usage rights and license for. Once the layout was selected, I was given a copy to edit and if I wasn’t happy with the illustration, Dora was open to making any changes that I suggested. I agree that my book could be used in a number of ways in the classroom or for home schoolers. 🙂
