Wooden Puzzle Turns into a Nativity Scene
A Wooden Puzzle - Day 75 - Daily Content Challenge
This Nativity Scene is special to me. It is one of the first things I put out when I start decorating for Christmas. This is actually a wooden puzzle!
Do you like puzzles? This wooden puzzle, made by a gentleman in my Church, turns into a Nativity Scene.
I bought this at a Craft sale probably 25 years ago. Each year I take it out and set up the pieces - the stable, Mary and Joseph, the cradle or manger with the baby Jesus, the three kings, a shepherd and some animals - a camel, a cow, and some sheep. All the pieces of the puzzle tell their part in the Christmas story.
When I put my decorations away at the end of the holidays, I have to put all the pieces of the puzzle back into place. Each year I always say I should take a picture so I can get it back together properly. So, this year I did! I was able to complete the puzzle without taking a look at my picture though. 😃
The man who had several of these puzzles for sale that year, is now 94 years old and each year when I set it up I think of him and his family. Many times after our Christmas Eve Church Service, I get together with his family at his daughter’s house and Dad is there too. Christmas is a great time to create memories with family and friends.
Merry Christmas everyone!
