Happy Thanksgiving Day!

Giving Thanks - Day 4 of Daily Content Challenge

Happy Thanksgiving Day!  This post was written on October 8, 2021

Thanksgiving Day in Canada has been a holiday on the second Monday of October since 1957. It is a chance for people to give thanks for a good harvest and other blessings in the past year.
The American Thanksgiving is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November every year. The reason the Canadian Thanksgiving is in early October is because the Canadian Thanksgiving is closely linked to the harvest festival in the UK.
On this Canadian Thanksgiving Day, I want to give thanks for:
1. Seeing friends yesterday. W, T, C, N, A, M, J - all who called me by name even though our faces are hidden behind masks. Meeting new friends too! C. and his son from South Africa.
2. Laughter. This short clip was shared in church. It was put together by one of our summer interns - showing the oops! behind the scenes while trying to record things during Covid.
This made me laugh. Thanks to all those who stepped out of their comfort zones and tried something new so we could worship God together.
3. A Friend who willingly came by to see what was needed to fix my toilet. The water didn’t shut off when the tank was full. My toilet is now fixed. Thank you so much Nevan.
4. A beautiful eCard from Connie. I love those jacquielawson.com cards
5. Finding a video series on YouTube. I watched episodes 1-4 of season one of The Chosen. Such a blessing.
