Good Tidings - Good News!

Good Tidings - Day 77 - Daily Content Challenge

A few days ago I showed you the angel I have on the top of my tree. Today’s picture shows some other angels I also hang on my tree. Some of these I bought on my travels.

The larger angel on the top I found in a craft store on a Greek Island. Some of the others were part of a set of wooden Christmas ornaments I picked up in Germany or Austria.
I noticed all the angels have wings and many of them are holding musical instruments or music books as if they were part of a choir.
A couple of them have halos while the rest do not. Hmm… That got me thinking.
We often say, ‘Oh, you are an angel!’, when someone does something kind for us. We joke about our halo being slanted when we don’t think we have met the mark.
I wonder what the shepherds thought when the angel appeared to them and said, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. (Luke 2:10)
What are good tidings?
Tidings is a noun that is an old-fashioned word for recent news. If someone says ‘I bring you good tidings!’, it means they have some news to share that you will probably like.
The good news that the angel brings is that it is for all people. It is for everyone!
Have a blessed Christmas everyone!
