Let it Snow! Let it Snow!
I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas
White Christmas - Day 83 - Daily Content Challenge
Let it Snow! Do you Dream of a White Christmas? Well, we do in Canada and this year where I live we have a White Christmas. Not a lot of snow on the ground but just enough to make everything white. But it is so cold this week that even though we have some snow to play in, the wind chill makes it impossible to be outside for very long.
The ornaments I am sharing with you today show some of the things we enjoy doing in the snow. The two outside ones are snowmen. Making a snowman and having a snowball fight are two fun things to do but you need what we call sticky snow to make a snowman. With the temperatures so far below zero, the snow is too dry to make a snowman. Growing up in Nova Scotia where the humidity is much higher and the temperature is often just above freezing, it was much easier to build a snowman right after a snowstorm.
The sled in the center says ‘Dad’ on the sled. I believe this is one of the stocking stuffers I gave my Dad. Going tobogganing or sliding down a hill on a sled is another winter activity we enjoyed.
Growing up we would take our sleds to our cousins house next door and slide down the hill in their backyard. When my Dad retired and moved to Diligent River, NS there was a big hill behind the house. The sleds went with Mom and Dad and the grandkids - Patrick and Averill enjoyed many a ride on the hill behind Grampie’s house.
Did you have a White Christmas this year? What do you like to do in the snow?
