Take Time for Yourself and Run with a Good Idea

Take Time for Yourself and Run with a Good Idea - Day 378 - Daily Content Challenge

The cheetah is a large cat native to Africa and central Iran.  Its light build, long thin legs and long tail help make it possible for the cheetah to run at speeds of 80 to 128 km/h. Cheetahs can reach speeds of up to 64 miles per hour in 3 seconds, making them the fastest land animals in the world over short distances.

Its head is small and rounded.  It has a short snout and black tear-like facial streaks. The cheetah’s coat is typically tawny to creamy white and it is mostly covered with evenly spaced, solid black spots.

A female cheetah, called a ‘she-cheetah’, lives alone or with her cubs.  Males primarily live in coalitions with their litter mates. Females lead a nomadic life searching for prey in large home ranges. Males are more sedentary and they establish much smaller territories in areas with plentiful prey and access to females for mating.

Cheetahs breed throughout the year.  After nearly three months, a litter of three or four cubs is born. Cubs are weaned at around four months and are independent by around 20 months of age. Cheetah cubs are highly vulnerable and are prey for hyenas, leopards and lions. Because they are so fast, adult cheetahs are difficult to catch but a lion can catch a cheetah if it is close by and can kill even the adults.

Cheetahs are docile animals and do not pose a threat to humans.  These beautiful cats are shy and will avoid direct contact with humans.  If a cheetah spots you, maintain eye contact and back away slowly.  Do not run because the cheetah will instinctively chase you.

Cheetahs are smart animals.  They hunt by predicting the moves of their prey.  They are careful to pounce when they are close enough to catch the animal.  They usually chase down their prey and bite its throat. They kill their prey by cutting off its air supply (suffocation). Cheetahs have weak jaws and smaller canine teeth compared to other large cats and they are at a disadvantage when it comes to defending captured prey from other larger predators.

Even though cheetahs are members of the cat family, they have non-retractable claws similar to dogs.  This limits the cheetah’s tree-climbing ability but it gives them a speed advantage when charging.

  • Take Time for Yourself - Set time aside for you and you alone. This time is not meant to catch up on the tasks on your to-do list.

  • Stay Committed - Be willing to give your time and energy to the things you believe in.

  • Run with a Good Idea - If you have a good idea, start to use it and develop it further.

  • Chase After Your Passions - When you are doing something you love, you are more likely to want to do it more.  Your passion can be a driving force to learn more and help you become the best version of yourself.

  • Stand Proud - Feel good about something you have done.

  • Always Land on Your Feet! - To always land on your feet means you are in a good position even after having had a bad or difficult experience.

Have a great day everyone.  Take Time for Yourself and Run with a Good Idea.
