The Year of the Water Rabbit

This is the Year of the Rabbit. The Year of the Rabbit comes every twelve years. The Chinese Zodiac Cycle Rabbit’s years were 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011 and now 2023. In Chinese culture the rabbit is the symbol of peace, longevity, and prosperity.

The Year of the Rabbit 2023 started on January 22, 2023 and will end on February 9, 2024. The Year of the Rabbit is predicted to be the year of hope.

In Chinese culture there are five elements.  They are Wood, Fire, Earth, Gold and Water.  

2023 is also the Year of the Water so 2023 is the Year of the Water Rabbit. The Water Rabbit is soft, friendly and readily adjustable.  

In the wild, rabbits spend their time digging, running, jumping, rearing up, hiding, eating, and socializing with other rabbits.  They like being alone too. 

These are the sayings I found on the bookmark called Advice from a Rabbit.

• Eat Plenty of greens

• Let your dreams multiply

• Hop to it!

• Spend time in nature

• Don’t worry, be hoppy!

Here are my comments about each of these sayings.

• Be a good listener - It is important to be a good listener. Listening to what others are saying creates a feeling of respect and connection.  Really listen without being judgemental. Let the person know you heard what they said.

• Eat Plenty of greens - Eat a healthy diet.

• Let your dreams multiply - Keep dreaming and setting goals.  Then take action to achieve your dreams.

• Hop to it! - Move quickly and start taking action now.

• Know when to be still - Reminds me of the song based on the verse, ‘Be Still and Know, that I am God’

• Spend time in nature - Spend time outdoors and enjoy the fresh air and beauty around you.  

• Don’t worry, be hoppy! - Don’t worry, be happy!
